Pre-School Basic Art Education (Orff Doctrine)

Okul Öncesi Temel Sanat Eğitimi (Orff Öğretisi)

Basic philosophy of “Orff Education”, which was developed by reputable German composer and music educator Carl Orff (1895-1982), is to raise generations who can express himself/herself musically. Putting this philosophy at the very foundation of musical education, TOBAV aims to develop the innate musical potential which is on different levels for each child and bring it to the upmost level.
“Orff Education”, which is based upon interaction of music, movement, language and dance, contains techniques most appropriate for children’s nature. Observation, imitation and experiencing processes progress through techniques which will give direction to development of children’s creativity. While elements of music are discovered in their simple and raw form, rhythmic, melodic, dance figure improvisations accelerate the creative process. This process also lays foundations of the musical behaviours which will constitute note learning. Thus, children gain the courage to express themselves through “Orff Education” which supports development in empirical, emotional, mental and social aspects.
Children abilities of whom are discovered at the end of basic art education process based upon “Orff Education” provided by TOBAV since 2015 with an academic and specialist staff, get the opportunity to express themselves in any branch of art. In this sense, TOBAV has undertaken a role which will support the social development without compromising quality in order to enable our children, who are our future, internalise art and make it a part of their lives no matter what profession they choose in the future, make their live more aesthetic and in order to discover and direct artist of the future.
